MANCHESTER BARBER SHOPS PREPARE TO RE-OPEN 4TH JULY

MANCHESTER BARBER SHOP

COVID-19 put a huge strain on the health and beauty industry with stores forced to close for an extended period of time, longer than most expected. Many barbers will be in a very difficult position.

COVID-19 put a huge strain on Manchester barber shops and hairdressers in 2020. Forced to close their doors, Manchester barbers were left at home in lockdown and clients were left to resort to self-help. And there are many drastic examples of DIY hairdressing. You’ve only to look on social media to see an abundance of guys shaving their heads as a last resort to lockdown grooming.

New COVID Protective Measures

On 4th July, barbers across the UK are finally allowed to re-open their doors. Therefore, everyone can breathe a sigh of relief. But it won’t be the same as pre-COVID times. Remember the old days when you walked into the barber shop to book an appointment at a reception desk, when you sat with other clients waiting for your appointment and when you could pay with cash? Well it’s not going to be like that any time soon. The government has issued guidance on measures to protect both barbers and their customers. These measures include social distancing, face masks and other protective equipment. Social distancing measures mean that capacity will undoubtedly be reduced, so it’s sure to be a busy season ahead for barbers in Manchester.

Some barber shops have gone even further with their protective measures. Oliver’s Barbers Manchester are implementing contactless payments, with a payment facility at each barber station. Their customers won’t need to pay at a reception desk – the reception desk has gone! Their barber stations and gowns will be washed after every client. And they’re extending their opening hours to seven days a week, opening earlier and later. Manchester guys are sure to be well groomed.

Newly Refurbished Manchester Barbers

Oliver’s Barbers have also taken the lockdown period to complete a full refurbishment of their salon and it looks amazing. It’s a traditional gentlemen’s club look with a modern twist. Manchester gents are in for a real treat when the doors re-open on July 4th. And that’s not all, they’ve even recruited new barbers and re-invigorated their service offering. Olivers is now a full service, male grooming barber shop. They offer the usual hair services such as haircuts and trims. Plus, their traditional hot shave beard shaving, trims and shaping. But also, facial scrubs, cleansing and brow threading. Whilst you’re pampered, you can enjoy a refreshing complimentary drink and chat to the guys. And for ongoing aftercare, they’ve a full range of branded products available from brands like Dapper Dan, MMUK and mr|muk. They are now the only barbers in the UK to be an official stockist of mr|muk.

Owner, Alexander Thomas, tells us “COVID-19 put a huge strain on the health and beauty industry with stores forced to close for an extended period of time, longer than most expected. Many barbers will be in a very difficult position. We’ve worked incredibly hard at Olivers to assess our current service offering and committed a full refit to the store, as well as a range of protective COVID measures, ready for re-opening. We are really looking forward to welcoming our clients back to the new-look Olivers and sorting all those badly self-shaved heads so our clients can also get their new look!”

Olivers Barbers will be re-opening their doors on 4th July with new barber Ashley Cox joining the team.

You can book an appointment with Olivers Barbers Manchester on their website, through the Booksy booking app, by phone or e-mail.
