Here at VOCLA, we’ve just launched our great range of summer menswear for 2023. Here we look at the different summer men’s fashion trends that are evident in the Summer SS23 fashion season. This summer we have trends in knitted mesh fabrics, neon menswear, bright and bold colours, and printed menswear. And the trendy styles for the summer season are short shorts and sleeveless tops.

MENSWEAR SUMMER TRENDS 2023 – TREND ONE: PRINTS + PATTERNS

Prints and patterns are finally back. Following a couple of years with dull and plain block colours, we are finally seeing the re-emergence of cool prints, graphics and printed menswear. And this year sees a great selection of different prints: abstract, geometric, florals, stripes, animal, dots, chequered. Here are some of our favourites this summer.

SUPAWEAR CANDY

Supawear is the best at funky and cool prints to liven up your underwear drawers. And this summer 2023, they do not disappoint, releasing two bold collections in a Candy edit:

Supawear Stripes: men’s striped underwear in liquorice-inspired coloured stripes

Supawear Ditsy Dots: men’s dotted underwear in bright sprinkle dots

Both collections are available in a range of styles: men’s underwear briefs, boxers, jockstraps and thongs. The styles also feature CURV technology. These men’s stylish underwear designs have a front cup to the pouch, which naturally contours and shapes your front, a form of lifting and supporting underwear.

MODUS VIVENDI INCLUSIVE

The Modus Vivendi Inclusive collection features a selection of designer swimwear, underwear and clothing styles in a multi-coloured chequered print. It includes all the colours of the rainbow so it’s as ‘inclusive’ as possible.

The swimwear styles include some rather unique options too. There are the usual Bermuda shorts, swimming briefs and swimwear trunks. But they have also included a male swimming thong for those brave enough to reveal a little more on the beach!

Aussie brand 2eros has always designed a unique range of lush swimwear prints. For Summer 2023, they’ve introduced even more prints: exotic florals, bubbles, sprinkles, and geometrics.

Mesh has always been a popular fabric for Summer as it’s more ventilating and breathable. But this Summer 2023, the trend seems to be becoming more adventurous. Historic trends have seen micro-mesh polyester-based fabrics, but now we see knitted cotton mesh in vogue.

This Barcode Berlin collection is a limited edition, developed in coordination with Eric Romaguera. And what a popular collection it is too! The fabric is a knitted cotton and polyester blend, available in black, cream and white. It’s breathable and ventilating, whilst also slightly c-through and seductive. Perfect for the beach, but also perfect for hot days at home! This Summer collection includes crop tops, sleeveless vests, short leg shorts, thongs and other male underwear.

MODUS VIVENDI KNITTED MESH

Modus Vivendi release a lot of mesh clothing styles, from sheer, sparkly, breathable and coloured mesh. You name it, MV has a version of it in mesh fabrics. This new Knitted collection takes the trend and offers a smart line of clothing and underwear products. It’s available in three colours: grey, black and a Summer white.

Who wears short shorts?

VOCLA customers it would seem. The shorter the leg, the more popular the shorts. Short shorts are back this Summer, usually available as pocket shorts, with retro-styled curved legs.

Neon colours are a great option for an evening in the disco, where the UV fluorescent lighting will let your outfit glow brightly. But neon is also a popular choice for swimwear and underwear. The trend in colour is definitely ‘brighter is better’ for 2023. Well, you don’t get much brighter than neon. Most brands offer neon either as a full-block colour or in garment trims.
